Warsaw University Building

The architectural form of the building is the transformation of the typology of the urban environment into the spatial structure of the interior of the building. The quadrangular wreath of the main teaching halls distributed around the perimeter defines the framework of the quarter and the interior space with free arrangement, filled with common activities. Thus, “active” zones of varying intensity will fill a maximum of a large part of the building, and its interior will become another element of the system of existing interiors and squares of Marienstadt. The inner square - the agora, is repeated on each of the above-ground floors. At the teaching levels (+1, +2), the inner space of the quarter is filled with mixed, intersecting study and work zones: rooms, nests, hollows, partly in glazed boxes, and partly open. All floors are perforated with several atriums that integrate visually vertically.
