Kindergarten complex in Stara Miłosna

The concept of the kindergarten in Stara Miłosna assumes the creation of a space that is friendly to the youngest users while meeting the criteria required in passive construction. The layout of the buildings in the concept we proposed was determined by several aspects that were paramount for us in the design process. The layout of the building provides access to sunlight from the south side of all the children's rooms, while overlooking the playground and the surrounding greenery. The withdrawal of the building into the plot allows you to create a common, sunny courtyard intended for play. Part of the conifers on the south side has been replaced by deciduous trees, which provide shade in summer and at the same time do not block the access of sunlight in winter. The location of the plot at a short distance from fairly busy streets can create a nuisance for such a function as a kindergarten. Therefore, the building partially recessed into the ground creates a zone of silence in the area of the courtyard. The volume of the nursery building is to protect from the noise of 1 Praskiego Pułku Street, while on the south side the location of compact buildings in the area of plot A-12 is assumed, which is intended to provide acoustic protection of the kindergarten area from the noise of Trakt Brzeski Street. At the same time, it is planned to plant shrubs and low trees, which will additionally separate the territory of the kindergarten from the access road. The building of the kindergarten is designed in such a way that its structure is close to the scale of the child. The division of interiors into smaller spaces, providing children with a variety of stimuli. Rooms located on the ground floor are intended for the youngest children (2 nursery rooms and 2 rooms for 3-year-olds in kindergarten). Their interior is designed as a sequence of openings and nooks, allowing you to play in different shapes of space, while being the back part of the room in the form of a closet. The floor area intended for older children (4 — and 5 — years old) was divided into a number of spaces of different scales. Each of the rooms was equipped with an additional room on the mezzanine, using the space above the sanitary unit, illuminated by a bay window. It can be used as a space for reading fairy tales and a casual “nap” that could eliminate lounging unpopular with older children. The kindergarten was designed as 6 — departmental with the possibility of conducting classes for seven groups — the seventh room is located on the ground floor. If there are not enough children in the kindergarten to create seven groups, this room can be used as a room for additional classes or as an extension of the multifunctional room.
