Faculty of Computer Science of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin

The new building seeks harmony, order, between the geometries of the ramparts and the existing building, orientates itself in accordance with the axis of the building of the electrical department, introducing the order of the foundation and setting a clear direction for shaping the future development of the campus and the science and technology park. The form of the Faculty of Computer Science draws from the tradition of local construction, regular, legible urban layouts, brick, present in Pomerania from late Gothic to Modernism, visible also in the buildings of the other faculties of the university. The compact, pragmatic body of the new building responds with small gestures to the surrounding park creating diverse recreational spaces for its users. Constructed of regular, stackable modules, it is a harbinger of a flexible, adaptable structure, variety of functions and the nature of interior spaces. The regular longitudinal rhythms of the window openings bring to mind the workshop -creative, creative space of innovation. Secondary division, ensures the possibility of free division of the interior and rationalizes the ratio of the full facade to the glazing.

The new building inspires cooperation, creative exchange of ideas, the emergence of innovations. Thanks to the location of various rooms in their neighborhood and the provision of attractive spaces between them, a place was created that stimulates spontaneous, casual meetings, encouraging to share their work, research, discoveries.
