All the elements of the complex of the new headquarters of the Polish Army Museum were composed in such a way as to create together a story about the great history of the Polish military. The area bounded by the walls of the former fortress was developed comprehensively, as a coherent spatially and functionally complex integrated into the historical fabric of the Citadel. The project refers to the historical architectural and urban layout. The Museum building with its cubic buildings (covered outdoor exposition) was located in the area of the former barracks of the Crown Pedestrian Guard. The architectural dominant is the reconstructed Guards Square, which performs representative functions. The space of the square through the floor is integrated into the hall of the museum. The adjacent park was also woven into the story of the military started at the museum.
