Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw

The eastern front of the campus of the Academy of Fine Arts is a modern building giving space for the development of students' thought and creativity. The new building creates a spatial structure that adapts to the needs and requirements of the users and their imagination. A simple, compact, pragmatic structure emerges from the spirit of the pre-war urban fabric, finds the directions and composition of organic, productive buildings. She reacts to the forms around her by making subtle gestures in their direction. Regular, rhythmic openings create strong links between the interior and the garden and, like paintings, they create frames — of the exterior greenery seen from the inside and the creativity inside the building — exposed to the outside. The body thus formed is intended to respond to the will expressed by the representatives of the Academy for constant search, departure from established patterns and agreement between culture, science and art.
