Today in Poznań we took part in the official ceremony of the start of construction of the new headquarters of the Wielkopolska Uprising Museum The ceremony was attended by, among others, Przemysław Terlecki, Director of the Wielkopolska Independence Museum, the President of Poznań Jacek Jaśkowiak and the Marshal of the Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, Marek Woźniak. The foundation of our urban-architectural concept is the deep conviction that the contemporary museum should not only be a place for storytelling, but also a space for active dialogue — a field for new social interactions and relationships. Therefore, as a central element of the whole project, we proposed a public square, around which are concentrated four museum pavilions of different sizes. By proposing such a spatial arrangement, we recall the beginnings of our state, of the strongholds and settlements where the first communities were formed. During the work on the project of modernization of the Mokotowski Field, we knew that we were dealing with a living organism - a sensitive ecosystem full of interdependencies, a place of established practices, habits and memories of its users. Therefore, as a design philosophy, we have adopted a kind of “acupuncture of space” - point stimulation of it, an approach not revolutionary, but evolutionary. In other words, an approach that will preserve the identity of the Mokotowski Field as a space of unfettered activity of the inhabitants of Warsaw The WXCA team was responsible for the modernization of the park space consisting of: Paweł Grodzicki, Szczepan Wroński, Marta Sękulska-Wrońska, Łukasz Szczepanowicz, Małgorzata Gilarska, Krzysztof Moskała, Paweł Wolanin, Magdalena Julianna Nowak, Agnieszka Radziszewska, Michael Poziemski, Anna Szymanska, Monika Lemanska

We propose a new — metaphorical and physical — opening of the museum in the form of a continuous landscape flowing through the museum campus. The new entrance area organized on the adapted level -1 merges with the exterior landscape and the city, leaving the historic axis of the garden, leading to the entrance below the historic portal. This connection between the museum and the city would create a kind of platform for social interaction: spontaneous meetings, exhibitions and outdoor activities or performances. A green space around was planned as a natural setting, giving the opportunity to expand the cultural program and go beyond the framework of the institution with its exterior as a living, organic and biodiverse exhibition.
